TLC Aquatic Precinct Expansion Complete!

We are thrilled to announce that stage two of The Lakes College Aquatic Precinct is now complete! Our young swimmers had a fantastic time enjoying the new facilities during our recent Family Fun Event for the Opening of TLC Learn to Swim.

What’s New in Stage Two?

Stage two has significantly expanded our precinct, doubling its footprint. The new additions include:

  • A 20m indoor, heated learn to swim pool
  • A shaded grandstand with seating for 500 spectators
  • All-abilities access from the carpark
  • Spacious amenities and office space

Both areas now offer person-with-disability access to pools and amenities.

A Word from Sue Mayo, TLC Learn to Swim Aquatics Manager

Our Aquatics Manager, Sue Mayo, is very pleased with the completed precinct. “The process was always planned in two stages. The first stage provided the 25m outdoor pool for year-round use by students and squad swimmers. The indoor pool now offers vital learn to swim lessons for our younger students and the community,” she explains.

“Stage two allows us to create a continuous swimming journey, from babies learning to swim to squad swimmers. It’s where a love for swimming begins and grows, not just for fitness but also for fun and competitive swimming. Everyone is part of our swimming club.”

Learn to Swim Program

Our Learn to Swim program caters to everyone from three-month-old babies with gentle ‘Welcome to Water’ sessions to adults. We also offer stroke technique training for advanced swimmers.

“Our swim instructors encourage every child to succeed in every lesson. Learning to swim offers more than just water safety and life skills. Research shows swimming can make children smarter, boosting confidence, physical health, language skills, and independence,” Sue explains. “We would love to meet you and your child and introduce you to our amazing team.”

The Learn to Swim program is now open, and assessments will continue throughout the year. A welcome pack is available for new sign-ups.
